This is the presentation we gave to Dutch executives visiting Beijing with the leadership training company De Baak in March 2009. It is our first one focused on “Chinese innovation“. Though people often ask us “is there any innovation in China?” we rarely get the chance to actually present on this topic publicly, and most of our research generally goes directly to the strategy, marketing and management teams of our clients.

It includes our soon-to-be-famous “5C“(tm) and “LABL“(tm) models of Chinese innovation and what to do with it. A few examples of mobile and Internet services are given for illustration; explaining in details why we selected them and what to do with them is the core of our business and would have surely taken more than the time of the whole presentation. Fellow speakers from China Youthology highlighted major youth trends and several experts such as Rebecca McKinnon and our very own Piet Walraven contributed ideas on Internet-related government policies, internationalization and more.
